Rainy Forecast This Week!

I'm struggling with this weather. Over a week of rain in this area is just too much for most of us. I've seen the sun 3 times since last Sunday. If I were still living in Europe this would be acceptable, but not in Tahoe. We're suppose to have 250 days of sunshine here and this is messing it up. And what about our plants? They say it could snow tonight. Still as much as I'm struggling with this I try to keep in mind these 10 reasons to be happy about this gray weather:

1. We're badly in need of rain in this area.
2. We have less chance for fires this summer.
3. Maybe we won't have so much of that yucky pine pollen this year. (...you know the yellow stuff that gets everywhere.)
4. You don't have to water your garden and you don't have to wash your car (well, we don't wash ours anyway)
5. You can cuddle up with your honey, because you're freezing. Don't have a honey? They are probably easy to find in this weather.
6. You can make "Gluhwein" (German Mulled Wine) in June and enjoy it.
7. You can go outside and splash in the puddles.
8. Mushrooms!
9. You'll really appreciate the sun when it finally does come out!
10. People who are bored in the house are coming to our store and they've never been here before!

OK, so I hope this helps a little. Before you know it we'll be out gardening, beaching and enjoying our summer or maybe shoveling snow.

So, I'm trying to get modern. We've set ourselves up on Facebook, where you can become a fan.....and Yelp, where you can review our business. I don't know exactly how all of this works, but if you do please feel free to become a fan, review the business or just ignore it all! The choice is yours.....I'm sure you like us or we wouldn't still be open, but maybe this modern way of networking will get us somewhere, where is the question??????

Thanks to all of our fabulous customers for shopping and working at our Sidewalk Sale last Friday and Saturday. Shopping fever hit Tallac Ave. and lead us to raise $1,500.00 for the Locals for Locals Angora Fire Fund!!! Not only that but it was really funny to see 5 people (both men and women) in the back room at once trying on clothes. People walked out with stacks of clothing that our vendors donated. I never knew a fundraiser could be so much fun! Yes, they were samples, and if you were one of the lucky ladies to try on the crooked boob dress.....sorry I laughed at you :) That day we also met more people that had lost their homes. We were happy to see them smile as they walked away with a free bag of clothing. This has been such a difficult time for our community and I am really glad to see there are so many locals who want to help other locals!!!

Thanks again to everyone for supporting our store and our community.
